Choose EyeSight
Subaru EyeSight Driver Assist Technology is saving lives every day through its advanced and intuitive safety features. Since the inception of EyeSight, Subaru engineers have built on each version to make it more advanced than last with improved technology. For the first time ever, Subaru included EyeSight Driver Assist Technology as a standard feature with the release of the 2019 Subaru Ascent, followed by the 2019 Subaru Forester, Legacy, and Outback. Additional models are expected to offer EyeSight as a standard feature in the near future.
With the most advanced safety features on the market, it’s no surprise Subaru has sold over 1 million vehicles equipped with EyeSight. Even without the EyeSight safety suite, Subaru is one of the safest makes on the road, but with EyeSight, their safety ratings are unsurpassable. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) awarded Subaru its highest possible front crash prevention rating for each model equipped with EyeSight. EyeSight-equipped models received similar scores from the National Highway Traffic and Safety Administration (NHTSA). Thanks to these ratings, many owners of Subaru-equipped vehicles receive a significant discount on auto insurance coverage.
Studies have shown Subaru Driver Assist Technology can reduce rear-end crashes with injuries by up to 85% and the suite lowers the rate of pedestrian-related injuries by up to 35%. These numbers are expected to raise as Subaru continues improving its technology.
Subaru has also figured out that people differ in how much safety assistance they’re comfortable with in their vehicles and has adjusted to that by allowing all features in the EyeSight safety suite to be turned off temporarily. However, each time the car is re-started, each feature in the suite defaults to the ON setting but can be turned off again with the push of a button. Drivers can also opt to use some features and ignore others – such as using collision avoidance but deactivating adaptive cruise control.
An additional setting the driver can change is the alert volume. Each time EyeSight makes notices something the driver may have missed, such as veering from the lane, an object in the Subaru’s path, or a vehicle affecting the Subaru’s cruise control speed, EyeSight will alert the driver by beeping to draw attention to the display screen. The display screen will then show on the display screen what the driver should be aware of. The volume of these beeps can be adjusted to suit the driver’s preference.
With more vehicles on the road than ever, it is becoming increasingly more important to have a safe vehicle. Subaru and its EyeSight safety suite provide drivers with just that. EyeSight adds a pair of eyes to keep the driver alert and aware of surroundings while also helping the driver to notice unsafe tendencies. No model can compare to the peace of mine Subaru EyeSight Driver Assist Technology gives its drivers and their loved ones. Lives are changed by car crashes every day. With Subaru’s EyeSight safety suite, your family will have peace of mind during every drive.
