What is EyeSight?
Subaru EyeSight is an extra pair of eyes, and sometimes an extra food on the break, intended to be an assistant to the driver. EyeSight monitors the road while you drive to better ensure the safety of everyone in the vehicle. |

EyeSight adds confidence to every trip and helps reduce rear-end crashes with injuries by up to 85%. When equipped with EyeSight, Subaru models receive IIHS' highest possible front crash prevention rating rating. |
Subaru EyeSight Features
Adaptive Cruise Control allows the driver not only to set a cruising speed, but also allows a distance setting. Once a cruising speed is set, the driver is able to choose from a distance of anywhere from 1 to 4 car lengths between their Subaru and the vehicle in front of it.
If there is no vehicle ahead of the Subaru or if the vehicle ahead is maintaining a speed the same as or faster than the Subaru, nothing changes and cruise control works the same as it would without EyeSight. If there is a vehicle ahead of the Subaru traveling at a speed slower than the Subaru, Adaptive Cruise Control kicks in by slowing down the Subaru to maintain the previously set distance from the vehicle ahead. Once the vehicle speeds up or is no longer ahead of the Subaru, the Subaru will increase its speed back to the previously set speed.
Pre-Collision Braking helps the driver avoid front impacts by watching the road ahead. If EyeSight detects the Subaru is in danger of a frontal collision, it will alert the driver and fully apply the brakes on the driver's behalf. This feature is meant for use in emergency situations to help protect vehicle occupants if a driver becomes drowsy or temporarily distracted.

Lane Keep Assist and Lane Sway Warning help the driver stay in their intended lane. When activate, EyeSight is constantly watching for lines on the road.
If EyeSight senses the Subaru has left intended lane, Lane Keep Assist will help the driver steer back into the intended lane by gently nudging the steering wheel in the correct direction. This is accompanied by beeping and a visual warning. If EyeSight senses the Subaru is in danger of leaving its intended lane or if the Subaru is swaying in its lane, Lane Away Warning will alert the driver by beeping and showing a visual warning. Notes: This feature may not be as effective on dirt or gravel roads, on roads with worn lines, or on roads with multiple sets of lines (such as when lanes are being changed, widened, etc.). Changing lanes without using the blinker will cause Lane Keep Assist and Lane Sway Warning to activate.
Pre-Collision Throttle Management works similarly to Pre-Collision Braking in that it helps the driver avoid frontal crashes. If EyeSight detects there is an object or vehicle ahead that the Subaru is likely to hit, it will alert the driver and reduce engine power to slow down the Subaru. This feature is meant for use in non-emergency situations to help minimize impact force.

EyeSight is never meant to overtake or replace the driver - it is designed to be an extra set of eyes on the road. Caution and good judgement should always be used while driving.
